“Smile” is Wizkid’s Appeasement Offering for “Made In Lagos” Album Delay

Nigerian Afrobeat phenom Wizkid treated fans to some new music on his 30th birthday (16th July 2020). The song, titled “Smile”, features Grammy award-winning US singer/songwriter H.E.R.

“Smile” is the lead single off his agonizingly delayed fourth studio album “Made In Lagos” which has been consistently teased for close to two years now.

Based on posts the superstar made on his Instagram stories a few weeks back, the entire album was originally set to be released on the 16th of July 2020. It appears the release of lead single “Smile” is Wizkid’s idea of an appeasement offering to make up for the delay — and we gladly receive it with open arms!

Produced by TBA, “Smile” is a feel-good song that features Grammy award-winning US singer/songwriter H.E.R.

Following the theme of unconditional love, “Smile” sees the epic duo seamlessly blend their delicate voices over an infectious reggae-infused beat to deliver a summer anthem!

Wizkid‘s previous albums are: “Sounds from the Other Side” (2016), “Ayo” (2014) and “Superstar” (2011).

Describing the impending album as “the best I ever made”, “Made In Lagos” spots a stellar line up of featured producers and artistes including: TBA, London, Blaqjerzee, P2jmuisc, Julsbaby, Sarz, Kel P, Mut4y, HER, Damian Marley, Ella Mai, Tems, Starboy Terri, Skepta and Burna Boy.
