J.Derobie Spews Aggressive Ragga Flows in All-new “Back It” Visuals

Off the back of bagging multiple nominations at this year’s impending Ghana Music Awards, J.Derobie makes a comeback with the all-new single “Back It“.

“Back It” doubles as his first release of 2020 and also the debut single off his upcoming album dubbed, “A King Is Born”.

The budding act has quickly marked his turf as a force to reckon with on the Ghanaian reggae/dancehall scene since breaking out a year back with the chart-topping single “Poverty”.

“Back It” is a hardcore dancehall joint that sees J.Derobie spew aggressive “ragga” flows over a thumping Uche B produced riddim, revealing a side of the Empawa artist we had never seen prior.

The Babs directed video predominantly swings between two main scenes. The first depicts J.Derobie as a military dictator, aggressively addressing his people behind a podium. Whereas the other is set in a boxing gym and sees J.Derobie clad in boxer regalia getting ready for what seems like the fight of his life!

According to J.Derobie the song was inspired by resiliency, going through tough times and not backing down from any challenge. No wonder the tone and rhythm of the song have the makings of a war anthem!
