Tory Lanez’s popular Quarantine Radio series on Instagram Live was hit with a temporary suspension early this week. Lanez and his followers retaliated with the #FreeTory hashtag and accused the platform of unfair ruling.
During a Live chat with The Shade Room on Wednesday (April 8), Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri addressed the suspension and claimed the issue was over nude content, which is a violation of the company’s community guidelines.
“Quarantine Radio is great, so first, shoutout to Tory Lanez on that. Quarantine Radio is not banned,” Mosseri clarified. “The Lives have been great, the Lives with the fans have been great. But you can’t have nudity. That’s part of our community guidelines, part of our community rules, and we can’t make exceptions.”
Besides Movie streaming platforms like Netflix, Instagram Live have been one of the coping mechanisms during this COVID-19 Lockdown.
