Sauti Sol’s Long-Awaited “Midnight Train” Album Finally Out

Multiple award-winning Kenyan afro-pop group Sauti Sol on Friday (5th June, 2020) as promised released their fifth studio album, “Midnight Train”, their first album release under Universal Music Group Africa.

Recorded between Los Angeles, California, Johannesburg, South Africa and their hometown Nairobi, Kenya, “Midnight Train” demonstrates the bands songwriting and producing skills with electric energy and new rhythms. The album’s theme is centered around enjoying the journey of life but also embracing the hustles and the trials that come with it.

The 13-track album has seen the early release of four lead singles with the first to be released being “Suzanna”, then “Brighter Days”, “Disco Matanga” featuring Sho Madjozi and Black Motion, which enticed fans as the lead song from Netflix’s Queen Sono and just last month they released “Insecure”. Another notable feature on the album include American singer and songwriter, India Arie on sentimental track “My Everything”.

“Midnight Train” is a wholesome album and a milestone release for the group. It is inspirational and uplifting and offers much needed social commentary while not losing its global appeal.
