Joe Kingston’s New Song “Coller” Showcases His Vulnerable Side

The Benin-born rapper Joe Kingston romances his love interest in new track and music video for “Coller”.

Emotion and vulnerability might scare the average person, but afro-rap artist Joe Kingston embraces them on his latest single Coller. The smooth single is an honest and affectionate declaration of love based on real feelings from years ago. His openness and sharp rapping make for a warm track that listeners will come back to repeatedly.

Ransom Beats’ alluring afro-tinged production is a perfect stage for Joe to rap about his feelings, letting us know he believes in true love. The single’s video captures the intimacy and affection in the lyrics. Joe earnestly pursues his love interest displaying an inherent charisma and style bound to make him a star. He glides over the beat, finding small spaces to show off his lyrical dexterity. Despite his precision, his words ring true as he raps “moi je reste toujours près de toi, même si ma musique me pousse loin de toi, je serai toujours aussi fou de toi” which translates to “I will always stand by your side, even if I’m not there every time because of my music taking lots of time, I will always be crazy about you.”

Born in Benin but based in Paris, Joe Kingston is a young artist looking to take African music to the world. On Coller, he shows that he can deliver sincere lyrics in an infinitely replayable single that his growing fanbase will love. The accompanying visuals blend substance and style seamlessly, a complete package from an assured creative. Joe cites Lil Wayne, Young Thug, Burna Boy, and Sean Kingston as his musical influences.
