Bokani Dyer

Bokani Dyer, a well-known South African pianist, singer, and composer, who has gained worldwide recognition as a multi-award-winning artist, has unveiled the third single from his upcoming album, Radio Sechaba, which will be released through Brownswood Recordings.

The single, titled “Move On,” is a soulful and upbeat track that blends Afrobeat percussion and punchy horns, with Dyer singing about the importance of remaining calm in the face of life’s difficulties. He asks for “wisdom to accept the things he cannot change, and just move on.”

According to Bokani Dyer, “Move On” is about “letting go and keeping it moving. Life is full of twists and turns, but it’s best to keep moving forward and not get stuck on the issues we face.” “Move On” comes after the release of his previous singles, “Resonance Of Truth” and “Tiya Mowa.”

Radio Sechaba, which will be released on May 12, 2023, explores themes of nation-building and unity, providing a unique perspective into South Africa’s diverse people and an opportunity for global connection through music. The album showcases Dyer’s commitment to creating rich and immersive music, placing him among the new wave of South African jazz artists, such as Siya Makuzeni and Nduduzo Makhathini.

With 15 original songs, Radio Sechaba reflects Dyer’s multifaceted influences and offers a rewarding listening experience for all. Bokani Dyer is also known for his standout contribution to Brownswood’s Indaba Is compilation.
