Bling Dawg Showcases Lyrical Mastery On Debut Album “ELEV8”

Bling Dawg

Renowned Jamaican artiste Bling Dawg releases his debut album ‘ELEV8’, a 19 track body of work after over 2 decades of doing music.

The album has a slew of big name features including Popcaan, Busy Signal, Bounty Killer, Tanya Stephens, Romain Virgo, Christopher Martin, and Morgan Heritage. The self-produced focus song ‘Prayer We Use’ which features PopCaan is an inspirational feel-good song that preaches belief in one’s self and in the Supreme being to face the challenges life may throw at us. According to him, he decided to move away from the typical subjects used in dancehall/reggae to provide some uplifting lyrics. Another standout song on the album is ‘Married to the music’, a song where Bling Dawg talks about the strong connection and passion he has for his chosen field of work. With a hard-hitting flow and impeccable cadence, Bling Dawg proves why he has one of the most enviable pen games in Jamaican dancehall.

Marlon Ricardo Williams popularly known as Bling Dawg is indeed a music veteran. The Kingston-born phenom spent his formative years between Portland, Jamaica and Miami, Florida. He got his biggest musical breakthrough in Miami after meeting up with two other Jamaican artists, Dugsy Ranks, and Biko Bailey who along with Bounty Killer recruited him to be a part of Shocking Vibes Productions.

His association with the aforementioned artistes opened many doors for him, giving him the opportunity to collaborate with and write for some of Dancehall’s finest acts. He also enjoyed Jamaican chart success with songs such as, ‘Say My Name’, ‘Perfect Lady’, ‘Like We Do’, ‘Johnny’, ‘Dignitary’, ‘Pass Dem Remarks’ and ‘Give Thanks’, as well as the collaborative hits like ‘Phone Call’ (with Vybz Kartel), ‘Father And Son’ (with Captain Barkey) and ‘Let It Be Me’ (with Sanchez).

Bling Dawg has performed at a number of shows around the world including Sumfest, Sting, Fully Loaded and put together many local community shows to help the people of Jamaica. Bling set the way for many of your favorite Dancehall acts and he is, arguably, one of the greatest lyricists in the Dancehall community. With his current rebrand, he has documented his health transformation (losing over 200+ lbs) and the new music will tell a story of his musical elevation.
