Pinky McPurpley releases It’s A Time

By  |

Johannesburg, South Africa rising artist Nokuthula Moilwa more formely known as Pinky McPurpley dropped an Extended Play, “Its A Time” early in 2018.

Pinky had a busy 2017 as she was involved in a collaboration mixtape compilation by award-winning vloggers HipHopLiveSA and she also establishes her own independent label, Unlock Entertainment.

The rising artist’s EP describes a woman who’s going through a confusing phase in her life of relationships, the everyday hustle and breaking into the industry.

Many would consider Pinky McPurpley as a Trap lyricist and she showcased these elements on the latest project, more especially on tracks like ‘No Sleep’ ‘Hoe Phase’ and ‘Cinema’ ..

The project is split up into two sections, the first half deals with issues in her life, trust issues, growing up and the grind and then the second half is comprised of the life she would love to live and hopefully attain one day.

The artist finds inspiration from daily life, the things she sees around her, conversations with friends, what she’s been through and at times her thoughts.

Personally, I am not an adament follower of the trap sound but if it sounds good and meaningful I’m able to rock with it so, my favourite tracks from the EP are Cinema, Hoe Phase, No Sleep and Stacks.

Pinky is also working on another EP and expect a mixtape as well later on the year.
