Buman pushes past Love’s physical barriers with “Mind over Matter”

buman

Buman has shown heavy potential and it’s a sneak-peak to what the rapper/singer can deliver on his own.

From the classic verse on Kwaku Bs’s “Shade” and his hip-hop dubbed single with $pacely, “Bu’s in The Room”, the rapper has shown vast maturity in his sounds and it’s as pleasing as ever. On a song where ecstatic infatuation is hemmed in by Buman’s understated vocal dexterity, he drives this song smoothly and balances the pace and theme of the song.

On “Mind over Matter,” Buman is assisted by Darkovibes and producer Boye The Genius. Boye handles the production duties, giving “M.O.M” a soulful, yet medium paced old-school dance sensibility. Buman delivers the first verse over the chill production work, whiles Darkovibes, who follows up with laid-back, sexy and faithfulness-assurance verse.

In between the verses, Buman let’s out enjoyable pre-chorus, chorus, and post-choruses that keeps it simple, yet effective in quoted lines “Cos it’s never been about your bacca, If your mind dey ground get out the gutter, I’ll put a ring on you make you feel like Shabba,Cos it’s mind over matter” a diction that grabs reference from dancehall deejay Shabba, Who is known for his love for golden chains and rings, an in-thing in hip-hop and music as a culture.

Darkovibes, as expected, did his thing, Serving as a fitting partner for Buman, following up with laid-back, sexy verses that breathes promises of faithfulness and pure love.

All in all, “Mind Over Matter” is well-rounded – well-produced, well-performed, and well-written piece, it’s not lengthy but worth every second of it, Buman delivers excellent vocals, Darkovibes sounds melodious, while Boye the Genius “stitches up the track” like the pro that he is, making this artwork one that can be on repeat for hours.
